As in what could be a clever name for us? Like how MLP fanatics are called bronies and Star Trek fans are called Trekkies, what would we be called?

Are you talking about Zelda fans, or Midna fans in particular? Because I don't think there's even a term for Zelda fans... Other than your 'ZeLinkers', which only refers to shipping.

Honestly, I don't like those terms. They're more of labels than anything else to me. When I hear Brony, Whovian or Trekkie, I immediately think "fanboy" instead of anything else. I'm aware that isn't the case for everyone under these categories, but it doesn't feel right giving ourselves a fancy title like that. We're fans. Why should we need to categorize ourselves?

I agree with FEZ. Besides I couldn't think of a good label anyhow.

Midnaddicts.

Moving on.

But in seriousness, I don't particularly mind the labels, but I don't disagree with Fez or Korppi either. However, "labels" and categorizations are sort of a natural part of human life. Even if you don't actually attach a name to a label, we almost always seek to be within groups, because that's how we find those who we can relate to. Why do you think we're all on this forum? XD

Doesn't make "labeling" any more pleasant, especially when you start adding stereotypes and misconceptions to labels, as people tend to do.

But for the sake of not going off on some serious rant in a relatively non-serious discussion, I'm going to go with Midnaddicts.

Or Midniacs.

Yeah.

After reading your names Spooky it gave me the ingenius idea of a possible pun thread, now I just need to think of a theme for it

True true Spooky. Humans naturally like to understand their world and one of the easiest ways to do so is through categorization. Otherwise language would have a hard time existing if you think about it. Not only that but we are hard wired to be social so we have the desire to belong to a collective. But again labeling can be so hurtful like with stereotyping. It is all relative.

Also I love that term, Midnaddicts. Definitely fits.

@Eclipse: We can make it a game thread. One person chooses a theme, other person makes a pun of it, and the person who makes the pun has to pick the theme for the next person down the line. I'm not much of a punster believe it or not, but that could make for a funny (and groan-worthy at times) thread.

@Korppi: As an anthro student, I agree. Stereotyping is obviously a huge issue, but we are social creatures, and we like to feel like we fit in, typically. Language is a complex subject, though. They developed typically independently at first for, presumably, the purposes of communication. It's only now when we're all one big melting pot constantly in contact with each other that we find solace in identifying with others of our own cultures or that speak our languages.

Or at least that seems to be the case. Don't quote me.

But that's getting off topic, now XD

Midnaddicts. Yep just has that ring to it. For some reason the word "Midners" came to mind when thinking of a term for Midna fans. I don't even know why. It doesn't make sense either but that's just a word that came to my mind. Overall though I don't see a need for there to be a term that defines us. But if we want to come up with one that's fine too.

A little off topic here, but do we have a thread in the serious discussion for labels and the like? Because it seems to have sparked a discussion here, I think it deserves a thread.
