Post rikiTunes
Surprise. I'm a musician. I've loved music all my life and enjoy everything about the wonderful art that it is. So, with my recent familiarization with FL Studio, which FreezeFlames also uses, I will be making my own tunes for you guys to enjoy. Take note, that because I'm a sort of a perfectionist, I take my time in making my music. So don't expect me to post songs very quickly, especially with schoolwork on the side. With that said, I leave you to my collection of music. Remember that there will always be more to come.

::: WMB Prelude :::
I started making this little tune a long way back, when I was still fairly new to WMB. It's just a small tune, but it was based on Midna's Theme and I just recently had the urge to finish it up some. I don't feel it's perfect yet, so it might even be made into a more full song in the future.

::: Epona's Calling :::
First official remix, yeah! As you may be able to tell, this is a tribute to Epona. I believe there's about 3 grand total tuned that you may recognize, but the main ones are Epona's Song and the Ordon Ranch theme. I didn't really put much effort into it, but it's something lol...so enjoy it.

::: Sacred Grove Medley :::
So, as some of you may know, during school we had a fine arts week, and friends of mine insisted that we play the lost woods song from Zelda, since i had written some of the song out prior. But, being as I am, I decided to take it a step further and play a quintet arrangement of Flibster's Sacred Grove remix, giving him credit as due of course. Anyway, after that fun stuff, I decided to revamp the quintet remix of a remix into a symphonic orchestrated version. This is the result. =)

::: Dawn of Victory :::
This is an orchestral compilation of three different tunes from Pokemon GS. The first being the theme from Route 26 when you first enter Kanto, and the latter two being Victory Road and Hall of Fame respectively.

::: 13 Years :::
This here is kind of a bonus song. It is a Birthday song made for Emkay's 13th and is rather short, but it's worth the listen.

::: Lucid Paradise :::
This here is probably my favoritest piece yet. I went for something simple for a change, away from my usual goals, and I came up with something I absolutely love. It's an ambient piece but only a good one and a half minutes or so. I'm not sure if I'll revise it anymore.

::: Metamorphosis :::
New favorite right here. The song starts off with simplicity and a suspenseful touch, as it soon builds in intensity and delivers a feeling of dark evolution, at least from what I can tell. You can decide for yourself, but that's essentially how I named the piece. It will probably receive quick revision from me because of its rough format and the fact that I am currently combining it with another tune that you might see soon enough. For now, enjoy my work, but remember to turn up the bass for this one!

Fantastic, my child! Great use of orchestral instrumentation. I can see you put much time into this. One question. Did you use a midi and go off from there?

Naw man. I clicked the whole way, if that's what you mean. I don't have a good keyboard/synthesizer or anything so that's a bummer. Otherwise, I'd be composing as fast as Mozart.

I see. Now you know the pain and struggles FL Studioists go through to make that kind of music. I don't know how you learned all the notes from ear.

Wow Riki, not bad at all. You've managed to incorporate pretty much a full score in this, which is impressive. You also have a good feel for musical phrasing, contouring the volume rather than just keeping it level the whole time. Your ear for hearing all the parts in a song is pretty good too, because there are a lot of nuances in there that most people would have missed or misinterpreted, like that harp run in between some phrases. I'm looking forward to hearing more when you finish it.

You know, there is only 3 different parts within the actual song, because that's all the Gameboy Color can really use, so mostly every part with the harp in it was an add on by me. Plus, I didn't like the way the Victory Road tune went in the game, so I changed it drastically. Oh wait, I didn't tell you guys what the song was made of, i'll go edit it. Also, thanks for your analysis and input on my work, it is greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Oh yes, I forgot to mention: no need to compliment me on the good ear. You could say I was "cheating" because I listened to the tune off an emulator which could separate the different waves (parts) in the song, so it was a piece of cake.

I'm suprised Riki, I didn't think you were taking FL seriously, Even though I don't know what I'm talking about. But I was taking a listen and thought it was some interesting stuff, deffinitely finding space on my iPod for it ;)

So I guess it worked.

Anyway, thank you for your input, Emkay. I can see why you thought that, since I don't really take much of anything seriously.

Man, this is great. You know your way around a musical score for sure. I love how it gradually gained intensity until it climaxed and fell away with Midna's Theme as the final statement. Also, there were some moments in there where it felt so incredibly full that it almost sounded like a real orchestra, which is impressive.
