Post Not Studebaker Hawk
I've decided to compile all my solo, non-WMB stuff into one thread rather than making a new one every time I record something. It'll update whenever I do something new.

Just going to bump this to tell you that I'VE GOT A NEW RECORDING FOR YOU YEAHHHHHHH.

This is another Celtic song, and it features Cutpurse on tin whistle because she's a badass and is really good at it. It's called the Banks of Spey, and we're going to extend it to become a medley with Brenda Stubbert's Reel soon(?!??!?). You should listen to it.

Not bad. The whistle is a tad staccato and some breathing noise got in, and I think the backing track's a bit quiet, but it's a nice tune, and you seem to have been fair to it here.

You think the background is too quiet? I'm having some trouble finding a good level, because initially it was too loud, then I made it too soft, and then brought it up to this level which I was pretty satisfied with.

Also, it's supposed to be staccato in some places. Every phrase is pretty separated, and even within the phrase there are a lot of separated beats. There are a few legato passages, like the end of the second phrase where she slurs up to that high note, but I assure you she plays all of them. The articulation is pretty much spot on. Also, I like the breath noises. It makes it sound more organic to me.

New song!!!!!!

It's a capella because I have no instruments except tin whistles and those are dumb. Enjoy and comment and stuff.

I've suddenly gotten the urge to head down to my local pub tonight. Can't imagine why. :P In all honesty, though, these are all pretty spectacular, CS. More folks need to comment on this thread. Like, for real.

Yay, I'm so glad you like them. If your local pub plays stuff like this, I'm pretty jealous. Also I'm pretty sure no one comments because I so obviously promote their suffering.

Yeah, you sort of do. :P Regardless, this thread deserves more attention, and I'm going to continue to reply to your replies until that happens. xD
