not working

i don't like that website, i much prefer it when you use a youtube video

edit: I can tell that 'Zelda sounding' is done with hotstepper
I played around with it. I think I see how most of it works but I probably haven't discovered all its features. Once I get an original melody in my head, I'll play with it some more.

edit #2: I can't seem to figure out how to make one note last longer then a beat. (and I'm not talking about the echo thing)

It wasn't done with hotstepper. XD

And that's one of the problems with hotstepper. You can't extend a note.

I think it's pretty cool. I'm not sure if I like the trumpet sound though, it seems a little bright and artificial sounding. Other than that, it sounds like you have a good start.

Ok this song is what resulted when I poured my current emotions into music fully. To me this sounds beautiful and encompasses what I was feeling at the moment. I don't really want feedback on this, I'm just sharing. If you want to give feedback, feel free to, but I don't think I'll be changing anything. :P This is a song I can listen to and let my mind drift away.

Hmm, I like it. It's definitely got that atmospheric, laid back feel you seem to have been going for. I especially like how when the synth does that descending thing, the other synth follows it down right after it. Also, the chords and octave jumps in that synth sound really cool. The sparse percussion suited it well too, giving it a sense of rhythm, but not getting in the way. Nice job in general, this is easily one of your best in my opinion.

Thank you CS, I'm glad you enjoyed it. :) I think this song will most likely remain my favorite, just because of its power to bring me back to what I was feeling when I wrote it.

Anyways I have more on the way once I touch some stuff up, but that will have to wait for tomorrow, because right now I need sleep.

Ok so after watching Lion King I decided to try and cover Can You Feel The Love Tonight by Elton John. Which means I had to sing. I think my voice is horrible in general when recorded, but I don't think I messed up the pitch too bad. So be warned this could be horrible, which if it is tell me so that I know finally if I can sing or not. Also I've never really sung before so this would be my first time. Recording at least. There are 2 versions I made, one with an instrument accompanying my voice and one without that instrument. Melody Stuff is with FL Studio, and voice was recorded through noise canceling microphones using audacity. Then I mixed them both with audacity.

With Instrument:

Without Instrument:

Oh and I know vagabond is pronounced with an A sound, but that's how Elton sang it.

It's not bad, but it's really important when you're singing to sing confidently. I get how it can feel awkward if other people are in the house, and you don't want to make a lot of noise yelling into the microphone, but really you need to project for it to come across correctly. It shouldn't feel like you're just talking, it should take more effort and more air. Also, watch your pitch. Singing with more air support will help that, but really listen to the notes you're singing and make sure you aren't going sharp or flat.

You definitely could sing if you wanted to, but you'll need to work on it. It helps if there's somebody who knows what they're doing who can show you specifically what you need to work on and how to fix it, but even without that, if you can lock in your pitch and learn to sing out rather than in, you'll be doing pretty fine.
