Post CS's Miscellaneous
Well, I decided to try recording my nylon string. I'm still getting used to fingerstyle playing, so I'm still pretty sloppy sometimes, but hey, at least it's something right?

Anyway, Minuet in G: http://www.mediafire.com/?oznwhi0yyuz

Thanks for the replies guys.

...

Now, before I unveil my latest work, I need you to look at the face of a genius.

Spoiler HTML code

LOOK AT HIM

You are staring into the eyes of one of the coolest people to ever live. My friends, this is Don van Vliet. This is Captain Beefheart.

Now, you may know that I have a thing for the music of Frank Zappa. What you may not know is that Zappa and this man right here have been friends since childhood and have contributed to each others' musical careers. If Zappa is complexity and order, Beefheart is insanity and discord. Zappa is the yin to Beefheart's yang. And both can be strange beyond all comprehension.

I've decided to cover a song from earlier in his career, back when Ry Cooder was helping out on slide guitar and he was still heavily blues oriented. "Sure 'Nuff 'N Yes I Do" appears on the Safe as Milk album, and is one of my personal favorites. And while I didn't even attempt to pull off Beefheart's signature vocals, I would like to think I did the man with 7 octaves some justice while using my own.

Here's his version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCSPf5Viwd0

And here's mine: http://www.mediafire.com/?qtmz2xyxftm
