I'm not asking which you use, I'm asking which do you prefer to use.
Personally I prefer a desktop. I was given a laptop as a graduation gift, but I wish it had been a desktop cause there's some things I want to do that this laptop just doesn't have the balls to run. Plus I want a bigger screen. :P

anyone else have a preference? I be curious.

And if there's already a thread like this you can delete this. I didn't see any.

YOU BE CURIOUS!

Desktop, easily. I've never liked Laptops. You have them on your legs, they get warm, you have to recharge them, they disappear, they break, you have to buy a completely new one when you want to upgrade. Unnecessary amount of pain if you ask me. It can be nice to have if you have it beside you as you're working with your Desktop, like a school computer or something. But if I want something that I can carry around with me and all that, I'll just get an iPad to be honest.

My laptop is a powerhouse. It easily beats my desktop at any task, plus, it's mobile. So yeah, I prefer laptops.

As a rule, desktops, but laptops are more convenient for me at the moment. I'd take a new desktop over a new laptop though.

Desktops all the way! I'm a PC guy, so I love tampering with computer innards. :3

Slightly off topic, but I recently bought an NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS graphics card for a mere $10 (asking price). The seller had no idea what the hell he was selling, but I won't complain, because I practically stole it from him at that price.

I've gone through 3 Laptops now. And I can easily say. I love the portability but at the same time, one of my laptops is now serving as an unportable desktop. And the fact that It's a 2008 spec machine doesn't win many points from me.

I mean look at this thing. I hate how bad this work space is.

I have no clue how that screen cracked either.

Next computer I invest in will easily be a desktop. It's awful when you need to do this shit just to have an operational machine. I still have a working laptop though and I still am looking for money so it will be a while though.

I personally don't care, but I've never had my own desktop. I used my parents' desktop two years ago when my craptop burned out, but I had restricted access, so I couldn't use it to its fullest extent. My laptop is pretty powerful though in comparison to others. In a few years when I have enough money saved, I'm buying a gaming rig because it's quite obvious that desktops trump laptops in terms of power.

That's a toshiba satellite something or other. I'll check on it when I get back.

Edit: Finally found the serial number again. It's a satellite A505-S6960. Wouldn't recommend the thing to anyone. It's got a loud keyboard, the AC adapter has relocation problems and the Keys are impossible to fix when you accidentially pop them out. I hate this thing but It has some old stuff on it I can't transfer. Also, It's the only Computer that works with my tv making it ideal for Media playing.
