I hate computers.

OK, except for the USB audio dongle not working in Linux (which does work in windows), everything is fixed. It was a pain in the arse too.

Resource conflicts? Those are still around? I thought they all went away with the advent of PnP. But yeah, the card itself was fine (same card/computer I've been using from ubuntu), and all the services that were required, and then some, were checked, and msconfig was ran (I never knew about that tool, thanks!). Nothing. So I said screw it and made a bootable win7 live USB and installed.

I saw that GRUB reinstall procedure earlier, but I was really hoping there would be an easier way. My live CD was of the older variety so it couldn't read ext4, so yeah, had to make a linuxlive bootable USB for that.

So now it's just the audio problem. The line-in jack on the dongle works, but not the line-out, and they both work in win7. Any ideas?

Sorry, I really don't know what to do to help you here, you could try the #ubuntu channel which I think is on freenode, but otherwise I don't know, I've never used an USB sound device.

So apparently there's a way to connect 2 routers together to boost overall performance... You mentioned this topic in the chat, so I figured instead of searching through several hundred tech support that assume your a computer wiz. I decided to ask you instead...
Do you think you could walk me through the steps?
Ty...
I have my wireless router from Qwest...

Which is the main router and I'm trying to expand it's range with a Linxes wireless router...

Well, I can't say I've ever heard of anything like this before, It sounds as though it should be pretty much impossible unless you are able to write software to link them.

As for boosting range using extra routers, I'd say you'd probably be able to simply plug a router into another phone socket You could set up internet sharing on a wifi-enabled PC, I believe there is a wizard for that in Windows XP's network configuration utilities, I'll need to get on an XP machine to check exactly where.
