Well, that didn’t take long. Just a couple of days after our first extensive look at Ganondorf’s trident in action, we’ve got another trailer for Hyrule Warriors Legends. Fan favorite Skull Kid joins the fight, with fairies Tatl and Tael serving as his primary weapons. Check out the footage after the jump.
Although Hyrule Warriors Legends won’t hit North America until March 25, 2016, its Japanese release is barely two months away. With that said, Nintendo and Koei Tecmo are rolling out information regarding the game’s characters and features more frequently than before.
This week’s issue of Famitsu magazine, especially, contains its fair share of new details. The pre-rendered cinematics from this past week’s Nintendo Direct implied that Linkle would play a role in the game’s story. According to Famitsu, both Twili Midna and Skull Kid will have story involvement with the crossbow-wielding heroine.
Additionally, the Demon King himself, Ganondorf, looks to be getting a new weapon. For the first time, he’ll be able to go into battle with the Trident, a weapon that’s traditionally been reserved for his demon-pig form.

Given the character’s non-playable cameo in the original game, the chances of playing as Skull Kid in Hyrule Warriors seemed next to nil. However, this week’s issue of Famitsu reinforces that Zelda’s answer to The Avengers is all about making dreams come true.
Skull Kid is set to be a playable character in Hyrule Warriors Legends, and will presumably be transferable to the Wii U version. Additionally, Phantom Ganon will appear as a boss.
