Skull Kid to be playable in Hyrule Warriors Legends

Given the character’s non-playable cameo in the original game, the chances of playing as Skull Kid in Hyrule Warriors seemed next to nil. However, this week’s issue of Famitsu reinforces that Zelda’s answer to The Avengers is all about making dreams come true.

Skull Kid is set to be a playable character in Hyrule Warriors Legends, and will presumably be transferable to the Wii U version. Additionally, Phantom Ganon will appear as a boss.

Did You Know Gaming explores Twilight Princess

Hyrule Warriors Legends trailer reveals Japanese release date

To celebrate the game’s presence at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, Koei Tecmo released a trailer for Hyrule Warriors Legends. The footage provides a better look at Toon Link in action, as well as a glimpse of some of the new Legend Mode cinematics.

The end of the trailer casually displays one of the game’s release dates, too — no biggie. The 3DS title is set to release on January 21, 2016, in Japan. If the release schedule for the Wii U version is any indication, then western fans shouldn’t have to wait much longer.
